The Art of Tahoe

There are some places that inspire creativity simply by existing.

Lake Tahoe is one of them.

From sunrise over Donner Lake to sunset at Emerald Bay, from snow-covered pines and wildflower-filled trails to the deep blue waters that make Tahoe famous, beauty is everywhere you look.

It’s no surprise that so many artists, photographers, makers, musicians, and entrepreneurs call this place home.

Creativity is woven into the community through local galleries, art walks, Truckee Thursdays, Tahoe Made, makers markets, and countless artists who draw inspiration from the landscape itself.

But what makes Tahoe truly special isn’t just the scenery.

It’s the people.

This is a community that values adventure, connection, stewardship, and giving back. People show up for one another, support local businesses, protect the places they love, and create experiences that bring others together.

Having spent much of my life between Moraga, Clear Lake, San Francisco, and Tahoe, I’ve come to appreciate what makes each place unique. San Francisco inspires me with its energy and creativity. Tahoe inspires me with its beauty, community, and ability to make people slow down and notice what’s right in front of them.

Perhaps that’s the real art of Tahoe.

Not just creating beauty, but recognizing it.

And then sharing it with others.
