San Francisco… where do I even begin?

I’ve called San Francisco home since 1997, when I moved back from Chicago the same week Princess Diana passed. Somehow, the years here feel impossible to count, not because of time, but because of the memories. The kind tied to places, feelings, people, and moments that stay with you forever.

Anyone who has truly spent time in San Francisco understands it’s more than a city. It’s a love affair. A feeling. A piece of your story you carry long after you leave.

Living in a Victorian apartment on Russian Hill, there are moments the city feels like golden handcuffs to its magic… and other moments where I truly can’t imagine anywhere else I would have wanted to call home all these years.

San Francisco has inspired so much of my life, sailing on the bay, cycling through the Headlands, beach walks near Heart Rock, afternoons in Dolores Park, eclectic art in the Mission, Cable Cars climbing impossible hills, the energy of the Financial District, and the charm of Balboa, Union, and Chestnut Streets.

It’s sunrise light on the Golden Gate Bridge. Fog rolling through the hills. Music drifting out of open windows. Tiny neighborhood coffee shops. Summer nights by the water. The feeling that anything is possible here. And that’s why people want to take a piece of San Francisco home with them. Because this city leaves a mark on your heart.
